Hardware and Installation problems can cause a lot of Crashes. When a piece of your hardware doesn't get installed or updated correctly and fails other pieces fail, too, leading to a major crash.
To Fix Hardware problems go to the Device Manager and look to see if there are any devices with a tiny yellow Exclamation Point Warning. This tells you what devices are having problem. You should be able to click it and find update driver, or you can go to your Manufacturer's Website to find all the updates to their drivers.
Bad Ram can cause many crashes over your Computer's lifespan. But don't worry they are not that hard to replace.
First check out this great software, Memtest86+, this will make sure that you RAM really is your problem. Next you need to determine exactly which memory stick has the problem. To do this, remove all the sticks from your system, except one. If the system boots fine, and no errors are detected in Memtest86+, continue testing in the same fashion, take the memory stick out and put in a new one until you find the problem.
Once you find the corrupt memory stick, just replace it, but make sure it is compatible with you PC.
You know a computer gets hot, so why let it get so nasty. Clean that crap up. You know its wrong, so do something about it. When your fans start making noises and your legs become really hot after you use your laptop for a while, that's when you know you need to clean that sucker out.
First, make sure all your fans are all spinning all nice like and if one is not turning go buy a new one. There not that expensive, I promise.
Also, if you have dust piled up like the one in the pic above..... I shake my head at you..... Get you an air can and blow that baby clean. It restricts airflow and makes your computer heat faster. Its also just nasty.
You can monitor the temperature of your CPU with my favorite free monitoring tool, PC Wizard. You can also check out your BIOS Settings, Maybe you have it over powered, just set them to their defaults.
Yea. Its always a great time to cram more and more power into your pc, but you always run the risk of overclocking your CPU. You can only upgrade so much before you begin running low on power. Your PC will become unstable and unexpectedly restart if you put too much strain on your power supply.
You will then have to go to your manufacture's website and find the power consumption for every piece of hard ware and compare it to your power supply.
Now if you over clocked your CPU, you can just return it to its original state. If not, then you have to either replace the power hungry hardware with green hardware or buy an new power supply (easiest).
It takes for ever and uses a lot of memory, but every once in a while you just have to do it. Your hard drive can become a bit more fragmented and unstable every time you save a file, install a program, or delete something. Not only does this slow down the hard drive, it can also give your OS trouble when trying to find necessary files to function. So your system will eventually give up and crash. Run the Disk Defragmenter in your System Tools every week or so to keep your files straightened out.
Get you maid to do her job. Find a Registry cleaner and let it wok its magic. Your computer continues to scan these error-ridden Registry entries, slowing everything down. Too much of this, and you can kiss stability goodbye.
A good Registry cleaner, such as Free Wise, is the perfect tool for clearing away the clutter. Free Wise will scan your Registry, find the problems, and exterminate them, Worry free..
Yes the are the worst things in a computer. But you have one!!. They are stubborn and sometimes deadly and like to tear crap up, ruining your computer. These cause most blue screens and can make you even more frustrated. But its a easy (sometimes) to fix. Just run your anti virus and watch that virus get blow right out.
If the virus makes you not be able to open you Anti Virus. You out of luck just go through it away.....
Nah I'm kidding. just restart your computer and press F8 before the windows screen appears. Safe mode will disable any extraneous programs and drivers from launching, and allows just the core operating system to load. This will let you open your antivirus and blast the virus away.
